আমরা তো ছোটবেলা থেকে অনেক অঙ্ক করি। তারপরও কেন যেনো আমাদের অনেকের এ বিষয়ে ব্যুৎপত্তি হয় না। গণিত অনেকের কাছে একটা ভয়ের বিষয় হয়েই থাকে! আমরা এ বিষয়টি নিয়ে অনেক ভেবেছি। আমরা দেখেছি, শিক্ষার্থীরা সমস্যা সমাধানের পদ্ধতি যাও কিছুটা শেখে, তার কারণগুলো সেভাবে উপলব্ধি করে না কিংবা তাদেরকে শেখানোর পথটাও দেখানো হয় না। ফলস্বরূপ, একাডেমিক কিংবা যেকোনো প্রতিযোগিতামূলক পরীক্ষায় ভিন্ন ধাঁচের সমস্যা সমাধানে শিক্ষার্থীদের বেশ বেগ পেতে হয়।

এ ব্যাপারগুলোকে সামনে রেখে প্রাথমিক (৩য়-৫ম শ্রেণি) এবং নিম্নমাধ্যমিক (৬ষ্ঠ-৮ম শ্রেণি) এর শিক্ষার্থীদের জন্য বাংলার ম্যাথ নিয়ে এসেছে বছরব্যাপী ওয়ার্কশপ “গণিত বোঝার হাতেখড়ি“। পুরো বছর এ ওয়ার্কশপ বিভিন্ন মডালিটি এবং কয়েকটি পর্বে চলমান থাকবে। এখানে অংশগ্রহণের মাধ্যমে শিক্ষার্থীরা যে কোন গাণিতিক সমস্যাকে নতুন আঙ্গিকে চিন্তা ও সমাধান করার পদ্ধতি শিখবে যা পরবর্তীতে তাদেরকে একাডেমিক এবং বিভিন্ন প্রতিযোগিতামূলক পরীক্ষায় (যেমন: গণিত অলিম্পিয়াড) ভালো করতে সহায়তা করবে।

বছরব্যাপী ওয়ার্কশপের ২য় পর্যায়ের কার্যক্রম শুরু হবে আগামী জুন মাসের শেষ সপ্তাহ থেকে, চলবে সেপ্টেম্বর ২০২৪ পর্যন্ত। প্রতি সপ্তাহে দুইটি করে সেশন থাকবে। সেশনগুলো হবে তাত্ত্বিক বা থিওরি, সমস্যা সমাধান ও মক পরীক্ষার সমন্বয়ে। গণিত অলিম্পিয়াডের সাথে জড়িত অভিজ্ঞ প্রশিক্ষকবৃন্দ সেশনগুলো পরিচালনা করবেন।

Since our childhood, we have solved a lot of math problems. Yet many of us do not have a proper understanding of it. If we put it right, mathematics is a scary subject for many students. We have thought a lot about this issue (or the whole ‘fear’ event). Our primary observation is that many of our students do not perceive the idea of solving a math problem in a particular way. There must be a reason why we take a path while solving a problem. Again, a problem may have multiple logical ways to reach the answer, and this part is the true beauty of math. Our fellow learners are often unaware of these facts as they do not get the opportunity to understand mathematics. As a result, they continuously face trouble in various competitive environments (like Math Olympiad). 

‘Banglar Math’ brings a year-long workshop titled Art of Learning Math to students of the Primary Section (Grade 3-Grade 5) and Lower Secondary Section (Grade 6- Grade 8 ) to address these problems. The workshop will continue into different phases all over the year.  The primary target of the workshop is to introduce an effective problem-solving strategy that will help the students excel in both academic and competitive exams (like Math Olympiad).
 
The 2nd 4-month-long program of this year-long workshop will start on the last week of June 2024 and continue till September 2024. There will be two sessions in every week. Each session will combine theory, problem-solving, and a mock exam. Renowned instructors of the  Math Olympiad will conduct the sessions.

The year long workshop will continue into three parts- Part I, Part II, Part III.

The problem solving strategy is the primary focus of the program while embarking on any particular concept. Each topic will be discussed from basic level to a broad spectrum. So, the program is designed for inquisitive learners who may be (or not) a beginner but wants to go far.

Each session will last for max. 2 hours. Academic discussion in a single session will not be more than 1.5 hour. Every session will combine theory, problem solving and, sometimes mock exam.
